Conventional catheter ablation procedures are predisposed to leave lesion gaps. These result in AF recurrence in up to 50% of patients, who then require a repeat ablation. Electromagnetic sensing technology solves this problem from the root by reporting the actual lesion completeness in real-time. (Read more)
EPD electromagnetic sensing platform, used with any ablation catheter, will be the first to enable real-time EP ablation lesion assessment. In doing so, it will substantially improve procedural efficiency and efficacy, the two greatest problems facing the $3 billion EP industry today. EPD D700 pioneering system will provide the operator with real-time data on the permanency, transmurality and continuous nature of ablation lesions formed during AF ablation procedures. Addressing these widely recognized needs will allow physicians to provide better care to their patients and facilitate the high growth projected in the EP market.
Furthermore, using the D700 disposable electromagnetic sensor with any cardiac catheter will enable accurate 3D navigation. To date, this has mostly been achieved through the use of a limited selection of catheters and corresponding navigation systems. Accordingly, EPD technology will lower the entry barriers for new catheter manufacturers to enter the market and therefore provide more options for both physicians and their patients.
By offering a holistic solution for operators with state of the art pre-planning and simulation, 3D navigation, contact quality, and lesion assessment, our platform will create a new standard of care in EP.
