Simos is the CEO and a board member of Impulse Dynamics and was previously a Corporate Vice President of Business Development for Boston Scientific with responsibility for acquisitions, licensing and distribution deals in the US, Europe and Asia. Prior to Boston Scientific, Simos was an Associate Partner with McKinsey & Company in the US, focusing on mergers & acquisitions and has advised clients in completed pharmaceutical and medical device deals with a combined value of $45 billion. Simos holds a Medical Degree from the University of Athens, Greece, an MBA with distinction and a Master’s in Public Health from Harvard University. Simos is a CFA Charterholder.
Shawn is a results-driven senior executive and entrepreneur with strong background with both start-up and large established organizations including Johnson & Johnson and St. Jude Medical. He has with over 25 years’ experience in medical device industry, and serves and CEO of Lavita Technologies and Renal Dynamics. Shawn was VP of RF Technology at Vessix Vascular which was sold to Boston Scientific in 2012 for $425M. Shawn is a Board member and co-founded several medical device companies, and set-up R&D and Operation organizations including Micardia Corp, Ellipse Technologies & Oncogenics Guidance System. He is a named inventor on over 85 patents in the areas of renal denervation, percutaneous mitral valve catheter based therapy, electrophysiology & cardiac ablation, cardiovascular gene therapy and implantable devices.
David has been with the Hobart Group since 1998 when he joined Impulse Dynamics where he currently serves as Executive VP of Product Development. Prior to joining the group, he worked at Sulzer-Intermedics Inc. where he was responsible for Bradycardia Advanced Technology Development. Dr. Prutchi has over twenty five years of experience in biomedical R&D and medical electronic instrumentation design and management. He holds a B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering and Exact Sciences, and M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Biomedical Engineering, all from Tel-Aviv University. He has published over thirty papers and holds over seventy patents in the field of active implantable medical devices. He is the lead author of the book “Design and Development of Medical Electronic Instrumentation – A Practical Perspective of the Design, Construction and Test of Medical Devices”.
Mateusz is an experienced, senior manager with 22 years in medical devices/pharma/ diagnostics. His medical technology market expertise was gained from numerous sales, marketing, turnaround and training managerial positions with Johnson & Johnson in Europe and US with increasing responsibilities up to the Managing Director position. Mateusz is also experienced in business development, customer focused sales and marketing strategies, customer education programs, innovation, launching numerous medical technologies and employee leadership development. Mateusz is a former Chairman of the Board of Polmed, the Polish industry association of medical device manufacturers and distributors. He holds the MD degree and PhD from biochemistry and molecular biology from Medical University in Gdansk – Poland.
Alexandra joined the Hobart Group in 2010 and currently managing Corporate Governance for the group. Alexandra is experienced in structuring private equity investments and in corporate management of joint ventures in life sciences and technology. Since joining the Hobart Group, Alexandra has overseen investments of over $220M in med tech companies, including Impulse Dynamics, Spectrum Dynamics, Novocure and Corindus. Alexandra holds a degree in Sustainable Development from Graduate Institute in Geneva, Switzerland and is a member of ARIF Association.
